Signed agreement between ICSD and FSSI. In Italy on 2019 the Winter Deaflympics
Yesterday, September 12, 2018 was signed in Lausanne, at the ICSD offices, the agreement that assigns FSSI the organization of the Winter Deaflympics on 2019. The newly elected ICSD President Rebecca Adam and the FSSI Preisdent Guido Zanecchia have signed a long-awaited agreement will guarantee the development of the Winter Olympics.
The agreement allows deaf athletes from all over the world to have their own Winter Olympics that was at risk due to the lack of candidatures a year from the event. The Deaflympics will take place between Valtellina and Valchiavenna as illustrated yesterday at the ICSD board, thanks to a great work started a few months ago by the Fssi and which has already had the support of the Italian Winter Sport Federation, the Italian Ice Sport Federation and, afterwards further approval to organize the event, by Cip and its president Luca Pancalli.
“We are pleased to organize the next Deaflympics in Italy,” said President Zanecchia, “we have been asked for a huge effort for a great sporting event such as the Deaflympics for more in less than a year, but we are ready proud and happy because it is a victory for Sport and for deaf athletes all over the world “.
